I'm a private pilot and love to fly to off-shore islands like Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket for lunch. Movies are lifesavers; when I need to decompress a little, I'll run off to a movie alone. (Okay, so it isn't the same to hold my own hand, but hey...)

I love to read, alternating between fiction and non-fiction. Favorite author: Jeffrey Archer. Favorite book: Lord of the Rings, far and away. It is an epic saga of struggle between good and evil, of the triumph of the small over the great against all odds and against all hope. It is the most devastatingly inspirational work of fictional literature I have ever read.

I play a little guitar and write from time to time. Now, here's the deal with this: if you can't sing (or write), and you know you can't sing, then sing! Sing often, sing joyfully. But if you can't sing, but you think you can, well, that's pathetic. I know I'm no musician, so I play joyfully in my acknowledged stiffness.
